Cow Essay
Gentle, calm and obedient are the attributes of a very loving animal, that is, the cow. This is a dedicated essay on cow. It is a domestic animal and is most of the times kept as a pet. Cow is a very useful animal for the human kind and has served the humans for several years.
It gets aggressive rarely and never harms anyone. Cows have many colours like white, brown, black or a mixture of any two colours. Cows have a moo sound.
It has four limbs, a tail and two beautiful and sharp horns. God has provided its own natural shoes to the cow, they help the cow to walk and run in all kinds of uneven surfaces.
Cow is a herbivores animal, that is, it only feeds on the vegetation- plants, grass, hay etc. As an animal taking shelter in a human house, it also eats pulses, crops, dry grass etc.
A cow has four stomachs, which in turn helps in the digestion of the cellulose that is present in the grasses. This animal has a unique quality of regurgitating its own food. The cow usually does not chew the food completely, it swallowed it partially.
Whenever the cow feels hungry, and is unable to find food, it regurgitates the partially chewed food and chews it again and swallow the food to satisfy its hunger. A cow’s burps contain methane (CH4).
Cow is useful to humans in various ways and has served the human society for thousand of years.
This animal is the most important domestic animal as it gives us milk- which is used in the manufacturing of all the dairy products like paneer, ghee, curd, butter, cheese etc. Milk in itself is a very important and a nutritious part of our diet.
Cows are a great asset for the farmers as they help in the ploughing of the land and make farming much more easy. The excreta or the dung of the cow is used as a natural manure for the fields on which crops or the plantation is grown. This manure helps in providing essential nutrition to the crops and aids in their growth. This manure is also used as a source of fuel energy.
The manure is collected and dumped in a pit, the anaerobic bacteria, present in the pit, ferments the manure and releases a gas called as biogas. Biogas can be used for various purposes like cooking food.
Cows, in the olden days, were also used in the transportation sector, they used to drag the bullock carts. They could carry all kinds of stuff and heavy loads or help the people in travelling from one place to another and made transportation easy. Cows also provide meat to our society. Its skin is used to make all kinds of leather products.
The humans should be highly grateful to the cow as it provides all the basic amenities to our society. They should never be given any sort of pain and should be loved immensely.
In-fact it is worshipped in our country India and is considered as a holy creature. But nowadays this animal is being exploited because of its high market value as it provides the society with lots of goods.
This should not happen as cow is a very gentle and a calm animal and is an integral part of this ecosystem, without it, the survival of the human society will be very difficult.
