Natural Resources mean the resources available naturally on earth, like water, air, land, etc. These do not require any kind of maintenance or manufacturing. Some of the resources are used directly and some are used for manufacturing other things or products. For example air, sunlight, can be used directly.
Whereas water, trees and plants are used for multiple things like manufacturing furniture, wood, paper, any kind of liquids need water. Natural resources are the materials available on earth by themselves and can be used for human growth and economy. processing such resources is useful for economic growth of society. Thus, human beings can modify natural resources, but cannot produce them in any way.
There are two types of natural resources, renewable and Non-renewable. Renewable resources are which can be renewed easily and available and used over and over again. Water, soil, air, sunlight, fuel energy etc fall in the category of renewable resources. While sunlight and air are easily available daily and are renewable, soil and fuels take some time and efforts.
Non renewable resources are those which cannot be renewed and take a long time to form again, when utilized at a faster pace. Non renewable resources are coals, minerals, do not need any human intervention but they take lot of time in formation. Trees and plants are available easily but need maintenance.
Natural resources are distributed evenly on planet earth and available in plenty. These resources are helpful in survival of living things on earth and every living depends on these resources. The resources are being created in such a way that they are helpful for our very existence and can be utilized in some or the other way for daily purpose. Water, air, sunlight are very essential for human existence and survival, one cannot imagine living without them.
They provide us with necessary nutrients and right balance of our health. Fossil fuels, oil, minerals are used many manufacturing purposes of many things which we use in our daily life. Gasoline, kerosene, diesel, coal are utilized all over the world and have eased many things.
However, in recent times, we have been noticing that these resources are diminishing slowly. Resources such water is becoming scarce day by day and people are struggling for every drop of water. Even though there are many ponds, lakes and rivers water scarcity is an alarming issue.
With the rising population and industrialization, many trees have been cut down, deforestation has lead many major issues like climatic changes, ecological imbalance, soil erosion. etc. Air quality is diminishing day by day due to pollution and other factors. Many fuels and oils are also becoming less due to increase in population and usage of vehicles and other machinery. Many minerals and metals are also at the verge of completion due to over usage and these take many years to form again.
It is very important to conserve these resources, for our future usage and utilization. Censoring these resources is very essential for human existence and survival and even there economic growth depends on these resources. Sunlight can be converted in to Solar energy and be utilized for different activities. There have been many plans and programs for saving these resources, but the action taken is very slow.
Many government organisations and NGOs are coming forward to help in saving these resources. Tremendous loss has already been done, but we need to protect whatever we have. and save it for future usage. We must come together in saving these resources and take necessary steps to protect them.
Like preventing cutting of trees, saving water, rain water harvesting cleaning of ponds and lakes, reducing pollution car polling etc are some of the major steps that help in some or the other way in protecting the resources. What is already lost cannot be retrieved, but what is available can be conserved and utilized efficiently, so that it can be saved. The government of all the countries and even general public should take proper steps and be aware of this issue and take it seriously.
