Children’s day is celebrated on 14th of November every year. It is also birthday of our first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. He had an immense love and affection for children, and due to this he declared that his birthday should be celebrated as Children’s day every year.
He was fondly called as “Chacha Nehru” by all the children. Pt. Nehru was born on Nov 14th’ 1889, to Motilal Nehru. He was a great nationalist and politician. He worked really hard for India’s freedom from the British. He died on May 27th’1944 due to heart attack.

Children’s day is celebrated every year in the country with great enthusiasm. All the schools organize cultural activities and pay tributes to Pt. Nehru on this day. Many activities such as singing, dancing, dramas are organized to celebrate. Fancy dress competitions are held, where kids dress up in traditional wear or as freedom fighters.
Parents and chief guests are invited on this day to witness the programs and to deliver speech and guide the students and encourage them to become good citizens and follow the footsteps of their leader. There are no classes held on this day and this makes kids very excited.
Some schools organize picnics for their students on this day and let them play the whole day where they organize many games or take them to movie related to kids. Some even take their school students to an orphanage and distribute books and stationery to the kids their to encourage the joy of sharing and giving. Some national level competitions are also held on this day.
Pt. Nehru used to say that kids are the future of the country, and they are the leaders of tomorrow and they should be lead in aright direction, which will help them and nation prosper.Every child should get inspired by Pt. Nehru and strive hard to fulfill his dreams of a better India. In Delhi, all the Ministers and cabinet members gather to pay homage to Pt. Nehru. Wreaths are placed on his Samadhi, sacred hymns are chanted.
Apart from all these many NGOs distribute books, clothes and food items to underprivileged kids. We all should help such kids to have a better future and better facilities so that they can grow up in a good human being and help to serve the nation.

Children’s day is dedicated to children. They should be guided properly and provided with all the facilities required for a healthy and successful life. We should treat all the equally without any differentiation with regard to their economic status.
Child labor should be completely banned and every child should be given right to get educated and learn new things, only then they will be able to stand on their feet and help in the progress of the country.
No child should be deprived of any basic necessities like food, shelter and clothing. Especially in rural areas where even today many kids are malnourished, and dont have proper facilities essential for their growth and development.
These kids take up menial jobs to earn for themselves and loose their childhood. some of them get into wrong ways and spoil their life as they don’t have knowledge about right or wrong.
